• Function

1.Oil Control: The piston ring is responsible for regulating the amount of oil on the cylinder wall. It scrapes off the excess lubricating oil from the cylinder wall during the piston's downward stroke and returns it to the crankcase. At the same time, it allows a thin layer of oil to remain on the cylinder wall to ensure proper lubrication between the piston, piston ring, and cylinder wall, reducing friction and wear. This helps to prevent oil from entering the combustion chamber, which can reduce oil consumption and prevent the formation of harmful deposits.

2.Heat Transfer: The piston ring plays a crucial role in heat transfer. It conducts heat from the piston, which is exposed to high temperatures during the combustion process, to the cylinder wall. The heat is then transferred from the cylinder wall to the engine coolant, helping to maintain the optimal operating temperature of the piston and other engine components.
